So Fresh and So Clean, Clean!

Singapore, Malaysia

We made it! A quick flight across the Java Sea and I'm in a whole new world. I had about 24 hours to squeeze in as much as I could here before I had to catch my train to Kuala Lumpur. In truth, I was happy to just look at this place.

Aaaaaahhhhhhh, Singapore. What a nice break from the ordinary! While I can’t speak for what there is to actually do here, I will say that I was fully entertained by the sights, art, architecture, and people. The entire city is built toward the sky with imperfect unison and indisputable cleanliness. And the craziest part of the whole thing was that toward the end of the night, I happened to take a door that led me underground, where an entire city roamed!

Singapore is built to perfection above and below ground. Instead of building overhead passes and crosswalks, each major intersection is linked by an underground tunnel system that is decked out with shops, restaurants, state-of-the-art architecture and design, and electronic walkways and escalators. Not to mention the sheer volume of people that I found down there!

There is this beautifully built hotel named the Marina Bay Sands that has an enormous three story underground mall (comparable to Caesars Palace in the fact that it was high-end and extravagant), lush casino, clubs, restaurants, etc. but the most interesting part is that it is built as three 57-floor towers with a ship across the top, linking all three. On this ship there is a full-service spa, huge infinity pool, nightclub, and restaurant. We snuck up there with a random keycard and the views were the best around. I wish I had more time here but tomorrow we are on to Kuala Lumpur, by train. Time is moving fast on this trip!

Me, "holding" the ship atop the hotel.

Look at this cute couple making out in the moonlight!
It was purely coincidental that they photo-bombed my shot.
